The Shoot
To be able to achieve the most out of the shoot it helps if we know what it is you want beforehand, what do you want the photographs for? Who are the pictures for? How will they be displayed?
We invite all our customers to come into the_studio for a free no-obligation pre-shoot meeting. We will show you round the_studio and show you samples of our work; we will get to know you in an informal relaxed atmosphere and find out what you want. You may have a very clear idea of the type of shots you want, however if you are not sure we can help you chose a style or theme, your team's shirt or mum's best dress etc. We can then choose colours for clothes and backgrounds and decide on any props to bring along on the day (your baby's favourite toy or dad's old guitar). For some people (usually the girls) the option of a professional hair and make-up artist on the shoot can make the day and the photographs even more special, this is something that can be discussed during the meeting. We can also give you an idea of prices, but with so many different finished product options it's impossible give a final price until you have seen the shots and chosen the ones you want and chosen the print medium. It is very helpful if you can give us an idea of how much you want to spend so we can shoot accordingly.
We like to allow two hours for the shoot so you can relax and enjoy the experience and also make sure you get everything you want out of it. However if your child or pet's attention span fails to stretch that far we can work to get the shots done as quickly as possible, on the other hand if you are enjoying the shoot so much that you want to get some extra shots and we run over a little bit then that's fine too.
The sort of shoot you are after will determine the format for the day, we are usually quite flexible so if you want the shoot after work one evening or at the weekend so Granny and her dog can come and join in the fun then both are possible.
After all the fun of the shoot is over we usually allow for a quick peek at the photographs on the day. After our digital experts have worked on the colours and selected the best images we will arrange a time for you to come back in and view your beautiful images and select your favourites.
